"SNIP.....
An internal poll in Georgia conducted for the U.S. Senate campaign of Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) finds President Trump just ahead of Joe Biden in a general election match up, 48% to 46%, with another 6% undecided.

(90,335 posts)... has to go beyond MoE to win now.
My understanding is Biden is up 25 points in swing counties even though the state level is trending closer.
The swing counties is what the polling companies should be looking at this time around IMHO... the swing states are too fin and not granular enough.

(64,988 posts)In this case these numbers are pretty close to a tie, because they're likely +/-3%. So trump could have an 8 point lead or Biden could be leading by 4.

(90,335 posts)... should be more granular this time because the less granular polling at the swing state level told a really false story.
It'll be harder to cheat also with granular county level polling in swing states.

(90,335 posts).. how they calculated it but I can believe at the county level Biden is beating Trump in the numbers.

(90,335 posts)Biden leads Trump 49-40, according to the survey, which is roughly the same margin he held a month ago in the right-leaning network's last poll. The poll shows that Biden leads the president by eight points in key battleground states and by 25 points, 57-32, in key battleground counties decided by fewer than 10 points in 2016.
Hopefully those counties are spread throughout the swing states and aren't bunched in just a couple.

(32,017 posts)These are the guiding principles of the State of Georgia. Remember that Georgia produced Alexander Stephens. This is the guy who led the anti-war contingency in the South prior to the Civil War. This was the guy who said to the radicals in South Carolina, "Don't do it! We're gonna get our butts kicked." This is the man that was made Vice President of the Confederacy in order to give a voice and to appease anti-war Southerners. This is GEORGIA.
Georgia is moderate. Always has been and always will be, and Georgia Democrats remain proud of the one President that we have given to the republic, James Earl Carter, Jr.
Georgia voted for Bill Clinton in 1992. Georgia was the last deep-south state to elect a Republican governor, and that only happened in 2002. Many of us believe that election was stolen.
Biden can win Georgia in 2020. If it weren't for massive voter suppression, Stacey Abrams would be our governor now.
Georgia will remain moderate. It's what we are.
