Walmart To Limit Number Of People Shopping At One Time Because Of Coronavirus

Walmart on Saturday will begin limiting how many people are allowed inside its stores at one time, reducing its capacity to roughly 20%, as a way to enforce social distancing.

The retail giant joins Target, Costo and other supermarket chains in deciding to count and restrict the number of visitors to keep shoppers at least six feet apart — from each other and from the workers — hoping to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

"While many of our customers have been following the advice of the medical community regarding social distancing and safety, we have been concerned to still see some behaviors in our stores that put undue risk on our people," Walmart's Dacona Smith said in a post on Friday.

Plus lots of tape markings on the floor around order desks and cashiers.

I don't like to use the self check-out because I think it takes away somebody's job, but I sure did today! Now I'm hunkered down for another couple of weeks before I need to go out for groceries again.

their turn to go in. Tough crap.

This is to help protect them and the workers too.

I do worry about my SO working there, on the front lines, and dealing w/ idiots who may freak out (hopefully they don't have the CV and start spitting).

My SO said that one person was hemming and hawing at the last minute on whether to buy a dishwasher of all things, before they closed the Home Depot store today (they close at 6 p.m., about an hour ago). He was told that it is too late, and he needed to leave the store (close at 6 p.m.). He left in a fit. Too bad. Need to be considerate of others, during these trying times.

The employees are getting fed up with dealing with these idiots. But, Home Depot, thank goodness, has two off duty police officers working too, to back up the store and its employees, and deal w/ any potential issues. thank god.

Be safe everyone, and take care!

Those who can shop with difficulty by using the cart to give them some support.

Guess Wal-Mart will lose some customers with mobility issues, and when it rains, and when it is 99 degrees outside, etc.

Walmart is filthy at the best of times. It was practically claustrophobic this last weekend. Things were better once I went into the housewares and pet supply aisles, but I hosed myself off with a garden hose before stepping back in my house.

I only go to Walmart right now for things I can’t get in Chinatown. Reducing the amount of customers will help.

Pharmacy Update

Pharmacy associates are working to make sure everyone has the medicine they need. Most Walmart pharmacies are open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. We also have a dedicated shopping hour on Tuesday mornings from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. for seniors ages 60 and older.

For seniors and those at high-risk for COVID-19, we have a variety of ways to serve you, including drive-thru, no-contact curbsite pickup and mail delivery. Call your pharmacy to see which options are available.

I believe my chronic illnesses, for which I am getting the Rxs, put me in the high risk category. I plan on calling to see what is available as they do not have a drive through where I go.
I suppose I could just transfer the prescription to drive through pharmacy in my area.
I know many have Rxs filled at Walmart to save money.
