I'm drawing this line now:

WHEN Trump is evicted, I do not want to hear, will not listen to and guarantee I will get in anyone's face who DARES utter "we must look forward, not backward" to justify giving him a pass for his criminal malfeasance.

Donald Trump must die penniless in prison.

Rump never had any values, and wasn't self-made like Brooks' character. So I don't want the happy Life Stinks ending for Rump.

I just want him stuck in a run down 10 block urban area, with no resources or wig, trying to scrape by. Ankle monitored so he can't leave the area. Begging, for the last year of his shitty life.

Sat Apr 4, 2020, 11:53 AM

Why should this time will be any different?

OUR NEW 2021 Justice Department (sans Barr) will have to delve deeply into these issues. No limits of scope, no parties off limits. We have to ignore the howls of outrage for WASTING all this time looking back, when we have such a HUGE MESS to clean up. LET IT GO, they will scream....

Until all these constitutional outrages have been addressed (yes, there may even have to be a convention, which, right off the bat EVERYONE says will NEVER happen), we can expect to see them yet again and again. Under a republican regime, within two election cycles. 'Cause that's just how we roll....

Because we are now an entire nation with severe attention deficit disorder, easily distracted by the latest shiny object, toy, time wasting electronic platform, while selfishly following, liking/not-liking, trending and "sharing" completely shallow, empty shells of anyone with a gimmick (hoping to eventually get OUR 15 minutes!), while being whipped into a frenzy by haters, trolls and bots.

But that is ok (we say) because there are SOME posts on those platforms that are good, healthy, uplifting, inspiring...

But to GET to THOSE, look at all the mind-numbing, hate filled and time consuming SHIT you have to wade through... And we are back to:

STILL being an entire nation with severe A.D.D., easily attracted by the latest shiny object, EXPENSIVE toy, time wasting electronic platform, while selfishly follow/like/not/trend/share shallow shells of anyone with a gimmick, while EAGERLY AND WILLINGLY being whipped into a frenzy by haters, trolls and bots.

It is a lose/lose situation.

Meanwhile, the real villains get off scot free, or a slap on the wrist at most, and continue the same old same old, because they know there is no real cost to pay.

New York won't save us because they haven't saved us in the past, when they could have. I used to hold out hope for New York, but Letitia James will generate a few headlines, then at most a wrist slap...

Because we are STILL an entire nation with a complete inability to focus, easily attracted by the latest SUPER shiny object, techiest of expensive toys, EVEN MORE CLEVER time wasting electronic platforms, while selfishly following, liking/not-liking, trending and "sharing" completely shallow, empty shells of anyone with a gimmick, while being whipped into a frenzy by haters, trolls and bots and RE-TWEETING them to EVERYONE on your list of shallow friends.

In other words, the people don't care enough to stay focused enough to save our sorry asses. Because EVERYONE says it will NEVER happen. Thus, it doesn't.

Sad. Bigly.

All of this to say, technology can save us, technology can destroy us, or technology can create state citizens who are entertained just enough to willingly allow an absolute corporatocracy to turn the masses into comfortable slaves, while the corporate elites receive ALL the benefits.

We'll be able to see it from afar, but won't be uncomfortable enough to demand it for ourselves. We will be the ultimate "go alongs to get alongs". Which is EXACTLY what they are trying to achieve.

We have just enough to make us complacent. A few woke people, but nothing that poses any threat to their order.

Corporatism is selfish and it breeds a culture of selfish slaves who merely seek their own gratification.

For example, the art of game design is to make sure you design the game to offer little rewards every so often so that people keep playing. They have learned that feeding the masses trinkets works to blind them of the reality that they just wasted real money and precious time playing some silly game that does absolutely nothing but waste time.

crisis and opportunity is the same. This crisis is taylor made for an unethical conman in, what has become, a bizarre world. I don't think he'll leave office, election or not.

If he does leave, the question of prosecution by democrats is questionable. If Bush could lie his way into a war that killed so many Iraqis and Americans and initiate and run a torture program without consequence, I have no doubt elected democrats, who have never been as cutthroat as republicans, will make strong statements and than talk about the need for healing, and let the cat grabber walk.

NO citizen should be immune from prosecution simply because of the desire to "move on" -- if we believe in equality then the law must be enforced and applied equally. 2.Due to the immense power of the office of POTUS--should it be proven ANY president violated that office, which in turn violated ALL citizens rights as listed in the constitution--then the former President should, and must be prosecuted. we formed this country to ensure those very human rights for all of us. In other words, as president, if Donald Trump has criminally abused the power of the office - WE - are -ALL- victims and justice must prevail .PERIOD. Nixon gave us Reagan who gave us Bush and Trump. Reagan got into office by treason, same way as Nixon. His campaign went to the Iranians and got them to scuttle negotiations with Carter's team about the hostages in exchange for selling Iran weapons. Then he illegally funded right wing death squads in Central America, set up torture programs, and funded it by having his people allow drugs into the inner cities of the US. Plus he used the Southern Strategy, starting off his campaign in Philadelphia, MS where the civil rights workers were killed by the Klan. His speeches about Welfare Queens and Young Bucks were the template for Bush Sr. and Trump. Trump even stole Reagan's slogan.

There has not been one decent Republican since Eisenhower.

Also why do you think no jury would convict him?

60. The pardon will come from Pence.
Sat Apr 4, 2020, 11:37 AM
Apr 2020

If Trump loses in November and sees no way to overturn the election and establish martial law, he will resign a day or so before January 20 so Pence can pardon him. He would not rely on getting a pardon from a Democrat. Pence will pardon his entire family of any federal crimes.

Whether New York has enough to convict him of crimes remains to be seen. Will the statute of limitations have run out for some of them? He has most likely committed tax fraud in New York, and getting his tax returns from a Democratic administration will be easier.

Sun Apr 5, 2020, 07:00 AM
Apr 2020

Nixon was granted a pardon for all crimes he may have committed against the United States while in office.

Not crimes he was prosecuted for. Any crime he may have committed.

The crimes were not even specified. Nixon was pardoned for anything and everything. Even things not known about at the time.

If you think Pence would not do the same thing for Trump, you are not paying attention.

128. I think that Trump's ego will lead to that
Sun Apr 5, 2020, 11:01 AM
Apr 2020

Actually his ego and his intelligence.

If it is clear going into the election that Trump has no chance at winning I believe he would rather resign than lose humiliatingly. I doubt that it is going be that clear cut though.

If he loses the election, I find it hard to imagine him having any desire to stay on as a lame duck President. If he truly cared about some political ideals he might stay on and try to accomplish something. But he doesn’t.

Under different conditions he might just spend the last couple months golfing, traveling or whatever else on taxpayers’ money. But he is smart enough to see the danger that we are talking about here. And I believe he will take advantage of his options and resign to allow Pence to pardon him.

People talk about Trump being stupid and incompetent all the time. However, you can not ignore the fact that he is smart and quite skilled when it comes to weaseling out of things and avoiding responsibility.

Trump will see the danger ahead and he will see the path out. And he will want to be done with it at that point anyway. Given that I don’t see why he wouldn’t take the option of resigning after losing the election.

Of course I may very well be wrong.

Actually he is quite inept at everything and obviously, our system of justice is even more inept to allow that criminal to sit there screwing up our country. Sorry, but calling him skilled is just not possible for me. I have lived long enough to see our system of checks and balances turn into a fascist oligarchy. As Dump would say, SAD!

We must look forward to the time when Trump and his minions are ordered to build with their own hands a prison camp that looks exactly like the one in The Great Escape, except that the ground under the barracks buildings (unless you guys and ladies think army pup tents would be better) will be reinforced concrete three feet thick, and metal will not be allowed within one mile of the camp.

And we must look forward to the day Trump and his minions enter the camp and the gates are welded shut. We will place a crane next to the camp, and supplies will be placed in the camp/bodies removed from it with the crane.

Alternately, we can restore Alcatraz and lock them all up there.

I would prefer he be stripped of his money and belongings and forbidden to accept "charity" (IOW, his rich friends bailing him out) . Then given an apt. in New Orleans in the sixth ward, and a job at Macdonald's. And that's all. Let him spend the rest of his life in poverty, struggling to pay bills and eat, taking public transportation to work and back, carrying his own groceries, fighting for health insurance. Living the life of the people he looked down upon. And that goes for every other Republican that supported Trump.

What are you smoking? The american people are too stupid and afraid to vote to remove this criminal from office. The system is rigged just like he said, by these thugs called Republicans. Voter suppression , gerrymandering, outright cheating, closing polling places, and misinformation are just some of the tactics they use. The Republicans will NEVER allow Americans to vote by mail they will fight to the death to stop it.
The fact that 42-45 % of Americans think this Ahole is doing a good job is the only proof one needs to see what this country has become. He will never be held accountable.

NO "we've just gotta move on" stuff, and NOT look at this, and NOT explore it in depth, and bring in the witnesses and the documents and the recollections described under oath. If he gets a free pass, that will send a signal to all future presidents who might want to use the power of the office to put a thumb on the scale, that NOTHING will be done, NO PENALTY will be exacted, and even though there are laws on the books (and probably will be more), open defiance is okay. The president really IS above the law, and can do anything he/she damn well pleases. Do we REALLY want to set a precedent like that? SERIOUSLY???

Say Biden out loud states his intention to push for an independent investigator or a 9/11 commission or that his AG (Kamala Harris) will be directed to investigate the Coronavirus response and all the current profiteering, along with the Russian shit, anything else criminal Trump has done. Does that risk increasing GOP base turnout and/or does it risk Trump taking measures should he lose the election to destroy the evidence as much as possible from the day after the election until Jan 19th 2021?
I want to see Trump, Don Jr, Ivanka, Kushner, Barr, Ross, Devos and her brother at a minimum be held accountable for all they have done. But don't want to do anything to buoy GOP excitement or desire to GOTV or give Trump a headstart on taking measures to destroy evidence if he knows Biden is going after him on Jan 21, 2021.

Call me cynical but it feels like somehow every time he wiggles his way out of responsibility, for his bs. I fear so badly this repulsive, lixzrd brain, racist pile of shit will never face real justice.
