I watched a YouTube video about the pathological changes in the lung that occur with acute respiratory distress syndrome--it wasn't even a video of someone who actually had it--and it was TERRIFYING.

The idea of this poor nurse who gave her life for her patients--like so many others and like so many regular people--dying alone of this is shattering and heartbreaking and everything awful. That is AWFUL.

Germany (84 million people) 1444 deaths

If Taiwan was Germany's size population-wise, that equals 17 or 18 deaths (17.5)

The death rate per case is lower in Taiwan too, but with so few cases and deaths in Taiwan that is not that great of a comparison.
