Rare for BBC to do transcriptions but it's also rare for Her Maj to do addresses to the world outside of Christmas.

I just rewatched the movie about her father last night, King George VI, who had a stutter, and was thrown into the role of King when his older brother abdicated for the woman he loved: The King's Speech. It's a terrific film focused on the important role that he played delivering radio addresses to the British Empire during WWII, and the challenge it was for him given his life long stutter.

I was just walking by the TV and saw the Queen talking... I turned up the sound, and heard most of her statement. Damn! That old lady spoke with calm reassurance to the people of the UK. No drama, no bragging, no rambling, incoherent claims....
I wish we had somebody like her....
I wish we had SOMEbody...

(Full disclosure: I am NOT a Royals-booster. My ancestors in Ireland were used as tree decorations by the Brits. But. Watching cooler heads - anywhere - reassure people and give them hope and guidance, makes me jealous.)

Inspires, comforts and gives thanks to everyone who is a part of this horrible situation.

She thanked all the doctors and the nurses.
Trump berates them.

She was inclusive. She made sure to point out that not everyone believes in a religion. She said whether you pray or whether you meditate. Good for her!

Showed multicultural workers and healthcare providers, spoke of "those of many faiths, and none at all" -- really balanced message of encouragement, grounded in reality.
