Well, a partial solution, at least. I have no sewing skills and there are no masks to be found, so I've been trying to figure out a jury-rigged way to make a mask. I just pulled an old t-shirt out of my closet, one that I'll never wear. I put it on, but pulled it down only to my shoulders, so that it's bunched up around my shoulders. Then I pulled up the neck so that it's not around my neck, but around my ears, nose and mouth. To get around the concern that it just looks too weird, I put a hooded sweatshirt over all of that and pulled the hood over my head. The t-shirt then becomes a mask, and it for the most part stays put over my nose, mouth and ears. If it slips down every once in a while, it just takes a fraction of a second to pull it back up. Not a perfect solution perhaps, but it's better than nothing. It will cut down somewhat on the likelihood of virus transmission. When it gets too warm to wear the hoodie, I'll just have to put up with it for the duration of the grocery store visit.

(83,754 posts)They look similar to the ones you see on nurses. Three folds to pull up and a twist tie sewn it at the bridge of the nose to help secure it.
Check out Etsy...they had many to chose from.
