Massachusetts Case Counts and Deaths Appear to be Slowing

Like NY, Mass has reported fewer cases and fewer deaths today than the previous day and the day before that. This could be a dip in the cycle, but it is about 2 weeks since we started practicing social distancing and a closure of all non-essential businesses. So if we were going to see an impact, now would be the time it would start to show.

Specifically,

April 2nd: 1228 new cases, 32 deaths
April 3rd: 1436 new cases, 38 deaths
April 4th: 1334 new cases, 24 deaths
April 5th: 764 new cases, 15 deaths

It’s better than more cases and deaths and so I will take it as good news for now.

Good that there is less death and I hope social distancing is helping but we live in a country where it's not being practiced across the board. Nothing stopping anyone from another state from coming her spreading it.

But not by the same level of decreases in new cases. MA is testing between 4-5k per day. The key is the decrease in deaths.
