(6,448 posts)Of course, we once again had to let a businessman invade our White House who had no right to even tour it as a citizen.
Currently, he's surpassed 8,000 counts of Manslaughter. Number 10,000 should come this week. And the d-bags still won't convict.

(22,338 posts)The U.S. had a program - PREDICT - that identified lethal viruses abroad to prevent their spread to the U.S..
It had found 1,200 viruses (and 160 coronaviruses) in 10 years.
It was actively working in China.
Two months before the Wuhan outbreak, Trump shut the program down.

Asymptomatic transmission? Check.
Surviving on surfaces for 17+days? Check.
Reinfecting people who've recovered? Check.
The list goes on and on...

Id like to echo comments of others over the past little while. When a Democrat takes office in January, he will want to look forward. Great. But he should also multi task and take a very serious look backward. To quote a DUer the other day: I want to see the orange menace die penniless in prison.

Peeling off Trump voters, perhaps, one at time as they also lose family members to death or chronic illness going forward.

Lately I've been thinking that China may have been on to something. The reckless behavior of trump, the GOP Congress & the rethug governors is too blatant to be ignored. It's obvious that 1) they're not concerned for their own safety and 2) they want the maximum deaths possible. It's fine to disagree but just show evidence of why I'm wrong. I'll wait for it.

(788 posts)Or that the incompetence is to this scale? I have no trouble believing the second one but the first one seems an awful lot like a conspiracy theory to me.

(788 posts)would require someone capable of conspiring to do anything.. this president is simply not that, and even an infinitely more capable conspirator would have to really, really work at pulling this off witg the entire world watching obsessively. Every single insane thing he has done on my watch has been best explained by malignantly narcissistic buffonery, hate of various types but mostly racism, and a bizarre obsession with pissing on Barack Obama.
Without some credibly heavy evidence, spinning this pandemic into having been literally started by trump rather than having been facilitated by his incredible incompetence risks making Democrats look like the unhinged types that republicans keep insisting we are.
The guy just doesn't have it in him.
