Derek Lowe has a list of HCQ trial results on his blog

Lowe’s Blog:
https://blogs.sciencemag.org/pipeline/

In his Chloroquine Update for April 6, he describes several trials that all have one of two common results: chloroquine therapy gives no advantage over the control group, or chloroquine therapy makes things worse.

He’s got one trial up where the control group was using Traditional Chinese Medicine, and even the roots and berries used in that protocol did better than chloroquine.

I’d almost be willing to say the folk-medicine remedies Granny Clampett made on The Beverly Hillbillies would have worked better than chloroquine, but skunkwort and retchweed are in short supply.

There's bunches of science-y info (in layperson language) that boils down to saying that hydroxychloroquine is not all that suited for covid19 patients, with pretty straightforward reasons as to why it's a bad idea.

The best part though is where he addresses the people criticizing him for not offering up enough hope:

Raising hopes just for the sake of raising hopes is not where I am, though, and in fact I find that whole idea to be cruel. We’re going to defeat this virus, this epidemic, by being as hard-nosed as we can be about collecting real data on real-world outcomes as quickly as efficiently as we can, not by talking vaguely about miracle cures and isn’t it something and wouldn’t it be great. You’ll need to go somewhere else for that. Try Dr. Oz, he’s good at that crap. I’ll stick to what I’m good at here.

Straight talk with no time for BS, good for him.
