Trump attacks reporter; next one just gratefully accepts him pointing to them for the next question.

I keep seeing that scenario play out. It's repulsive.

Reporter 1: "President Trump, why is there still not enough testing?"

Trump: "You're horrid! You're fake! You're third rate!"

Trump then doesn't let Reporter 1 respond to being attacked. He knows better. He just immediately points to Reporter 2. Then, revoltingly, Reporter 2 just cravenly and gratefully accepts the "great opportunity" to ask the next question, "Thank you, Mr. President. I'd like to ask you …"

Wait. What happened there? Trump inexcusably, childishly, boorishly, insultingly abused a fellow Reporter, and Reporter 2 just shrugged it off and grovelingly asked his or her own question.

That's terrible!

Reporter 2 needs to get some guts and some presence of mind. Reporter 2's duty to his or her profession is to say, "Thank you, Sir, but I believe you owe my colleague an apology! I'd like my colleague to have a chance to respond to your abuse and, maybe, accept your apology."
