It boggles my mind, however, that a Navy cabinet officer (sort of) can badmouth the captain of a capital ship. Even in the modern Navy that can't always steer that well or slips on maintenance, they don't usually give aircraft carriers to idiots. And if they do, nobody, NOBODY up the line badmouths that officer in front of his troops/sailors. And a civilian defense undersecretary who once wore the uniform should damn well know that.
Busting your captain and then calling him an idiot in front of the sailors who respect him is one hell of a way to blow morale all to hell.
So, where are our Republican Navy supporters who should be the first to demand this asshole's head.

(5,477 posts)Criticizing the commander of a unit in front of the people he led is absolutely wrong, and this asshole deserves every bit of the hatred he claims to be on the receiving end of.
Appalling conduct, especially from a graduate of the the US Naval Academy.
