Tell me why your state has the worst Republicans in the country.

I'm from Wisconsin.

We subjected you to invertebrate speaker of the house Paul Ryan.

We elected union busting Scott Walker, twice.

We gave up Russ Feingold for Ron Johnson, trading in the smartest most ethical man in the senate for the dumbest, most morally bankrupt senator.

And we are voting tomorrow, even though there's a pandemic. Thanks to our Republican state government assholes, particularly Scott Fitzgerald.

Yessir, we grow the biggest assholes in the country.

Yup. With Milwaukee only running 5 instead of the usual 180 polling places, and since that’s where most of the left leaning votes come from ( Milwaukee and Madison, with Milwaukee leading in volume) expect a clean right wing sweep today.

They literally are willing to murder (and have no doubts about it, holding elections today is premeditated, cold blooded murder) to keep their lock on the Supreme Court.

How many die from COVID infections caught today because of the GOP Supreme Court’s decision to protect their position at all costs? Every one of those deaths are laid at the GOP’s feet.

one have an article that of all states (New Mexico), stating that NM is blocking TX traffic? Go figure. I ran across this article, oh, I say about two / three weeks ago, and it really stuck in my mind (I'm in Missouri, and one of my best friends in High School moved to NM, lost track of him since).

I thought it was a good idea (blocking traffic), I suspect it was due to the CV, but I didn't pursue the article, you know how it is, we read literally dozens/hundreds of articles a day on DU, some of these articles of course have the sources linked in too, but who reads all of them?

Usually a snapshot/analysis is good enough for me. I too, tried quickly searching for the article, but alas, no luck. Perhaps I'll run across again. I personally think that down the road, states will start getting more aggressive in blocking traffic, in order to somewhat control what's flowing into their states, especially since we can't get an integrated federal response to this whole thing. Rump is a mess and worthless.

Now I'm going to have a 'worm' in my ear, and thus, will be on the lookout for this article...ahhhh!!!!

Take care and Be safe!

It sounds so improbable that it requires a second look.

Supposedly Florida and Rhode Island are trying to stop New Yorkers from coming to their states. Not sure how efficient that can be. Plus, it's not possible to block every single road crossing state borders. There are simply too many of them.

And now these republican states, who refused to close down stuff, are finding out that the virus doesn't play favorites and now their rural areas are getting slammed. Probably from churches and other organizations that think they are immune (and aren't of course, the virus doesn't play favorites). As a result of this, these states deliberately stressed their hospital resources and there are probably aren't very many open slots available anymore to help others, being that states now are dealing w/ their own sick populations who need hospital care (and worse, ICU care).

Most corporations don't have a union workforce. They might have some union trade guys employed, but that's not what it's suggesting.

When called on it, asked to provide a link, he said it was a leaked draft and it was stuff the republicans forced her to take out. Then I saw an almost identical "draft" that another right-winger got from Breitbart.

Idaho is supposed to have the most insane Republicans in America, but compared to McConnell, the Pauls, anyone in Florida and Wisconsin's brand of lunatics, ours seem absolutely rational.

But I won't disappoint. We have:

Shaun Winkler: Grand Wizard of the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. Don't ask me why we have a local chapter of the KKK because we have very few African-Americans. Ran for sheriff a few years back. Campaigned on the promise that if elected he wouldn't hold any cross lighting ceremonies while he was in office.

Heather Scott: State legislator. Participated in the Malheur Standoff.

Tina Kunishige: Ran for sheriff in 2016. Too insane to make it past the Republican primary, so ran as a Democrat. Wanted to remove all weapons larger than pistols from the sheriff's armory. Is known to have constructed a working replica, that fires live ammunition at full cyclic rate, of a General Electric M134 "Minigun" 4000-round-per-minute machine gun.

Larry Craig: Needs no introduction but will get one anyway. Craig is not here because of his policies, which would get him bounced into the Democratic caucus if he tried any of them in the Age of Trump. He's here because he was arrested for soliciting bathroom sex at an airport.

Helen Chenoweth (RIP): Let's put it this way: If they would have had sovereign citizens before 2006, she would have been one. (I say "before 2006" because that's when she died in a car crash.) Was among the first to call for Bill Clinton's resignation over the Lewinsky affair, but had committed adultery herself.

And we also had a recall election that replaced a democratic governor with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

And the people behind said recall are attempting to recall Gavin Newsom, because, democrat.

Total Fuckery that he was re-elected(close enough to be stolen) but after that fake David Koch call I can't believe anybody would vote for him.

Oregon, We had a carpetbagging frat boy friend of Yale loser Brett Kavanaugh, Chris Dudley mostly known as tall white guy in the NBA, run for Governor because he was a rich repub, he had a real and true hatred of the little people, a true reputation as a cheater, drinker and just a generally despicable person. He also was pretty much known to live in Camus Washington area for the the beautiful smells and taxes breaks, he almost won had not a lick of experiance, just because of outside of the state dark money.

I guess as a first post this seems like a pretty good topic to throw my hat in the ringer on, especially considering my username. (picked it before this fiasco) by the way.

It's gotta be Wisconsin, without question for the reasons mentioned above.

I'll be the first to admit, I like Paul Ryan as he's been personally very very thoughtful and courteous to my family in a time he didn't need to be (a story for another day) but I can't stand Scott Walker, Ron Johnson and 98% of the rest of them.

I used to be one. I'm thankful to that my eyes have been opened and I see the light now.

As a side, I look forward to conversing with all of you. It's nice to have place where I know there may be somethings I disagree with others on but can be treated with respect. That doesn't happen on the other, my former side of the aisle.

I've heard that Paul Ryan is a very nice person, heard that from Democratic politicians.

This election business has really turned the spotlight on our state. I'm actually glad we're voting today, for the sake of the judicial race, but it does introduce risk for people.

I just voted in person in Madison. Everyone wore masks and gloves, they had a system.

But the ballot scanner stopped working while I was in there. After 10 minutes of trying to fix it, and more and more people gathering around, they finally called downtown to ask for another machine. They collected all of our ballots and put them in a plastic bag.

So, not the smoothest vote I've had, but everyone was trying to be safe and keep it working.

most of the good country people through the heartland allowed themselves to be brainwashed by the ultra-wealthy's conservative spin machine, from Spiro Agnew to Reagan to Gingrich to Limbaugh to Falwell's Moral Majority and finally to Faux News.

Those things birth GOP politicians like McConnell, Rand Paul and Thomas Massie.

The reps we send to Congress mostly just turn off their brain and vote whatever way the Republican establishment tells them to, but they are normally not particularly heinous. Our state government has some wackos for sure but the moderates that don’t screw anything up too bad almost always win out. It’s just annoying we have to be “more moral than though” constantly so we can’t get legal weed, gambling or anything like that. My vote would be for Kansas or Wisconsin.

When she showed up on TV alongside Gym Jordan. Here in NY-21, there have been protests outside her local office ever since she won her first term in 2015, taking the place of moderate Democrat Bill Owens who retired. Even before this, she refused to publicize her schedule ahead of time since she knew protesters were likely to show up. I don't know how she keeps winning, for the last election, 10 Democrats initially stepped up for the nomination. BTW, her mentor was Paul Ryan.
