I was more than skeptical when Pritzker first announced his candidacy: there was no way I was going to vote for another billionaire. But I watched every debate, and his deep knowledge of state government, assured demeanor, and full, clear, and well-articulated answers seemed to wipe everyone else off the stage. I'm hard to convince once I form an opinion about someone (this time, based solely on his financial status), but I did a complete turnaround and ended up supporting him. I'm glad I did. He has shown himself to be a steady hand at the till and a compassionate liberal. A mensch.

-We shipped PPE to China from our National Stockpile (which was already bought and paid for by taxpayers)
-China did not use them
-We are using Federal flights to bring them back to the USA
-The Federal Govt is then turning over the PPE to private companies
-These private companies are then selling them to states by having an auction
- Highest bidder wins (to maximize profit for these private companies)
-The states get the PPE they desperately need by paying top dollar for PPE that was already ours.

Please tell me I am wrong on some of this...

Right now, in an attempt to help with PPE needs in hospitals---Im helping a colleague, in a small way, import N95 masks from China TO DONATE to hospitals. She has a go fund me.

We are in fashion apparel and she has a fabric sourcing business. Her mills all started making masks for China.

Now we can get them in very large minimum order quantities. The customs situation was a nightmare but she figured it out. A kind person donated 75k to get it all started.

She had to start a fundraiser for the rest. 100% of donations go to masks. Volunteer admins. Im so proud of my friend. Its absolutely her personality to do this, to try to help because she can.

That our POS pResident is making money off this process holds a special level of disgust and revulsion for me.
