Terrifying with a Capital T.
Holy shit.
No joking or sarcasm intended at all, mind you.
These people, they live and breath among us.

(25,464 posts)Why would you expect anything to change? These people have been delusional since day one, and that sounds exactly like the same nonsense they've been spewing constantly since Trump was elected.
Seriously, why does this surprise you? Why does it surprise anyone? Cult members are gonna cult.

(621 posts)We locked down 6 days before the school closed (to much public anger). Then it was revealed that our first case was a student. That shut everyone up. Its a small town. If you shoot your mouth off irresponsibility about someones kid, chances are you cross paths with that family and its not going to go well. ALL of the kids were in contact with that child and they all brought it home. You cant scream fake news when it hits that close to home. Reality bites. (And yes, they WILL still vote for him in November 🙄

(25,962 posts)A lot of the "people" posting stuff like this are Russian bots or homegrown ones. People have been paid to salt online communities with this kind of thing for years. Even buying and selling fake accounts is a business.

(3,266 posts)like these as well. Just had a big FB argument with someone myself - whos an intelligent woman, an artist, someone who I (used to) respect. I was surprised to learn she was a Republican when she posted photos of herself going to inauguration balls. But she doesnt post political stuff, or especially trump stuff, so shes survived the rounds of culling of my friends list. But a few days ago I shared that photoshopped meme of trump standing inside the freezer truck shouting at the body bags, HAVE YOU SEEN MY RATINGS!.
It caused QUITE a stir, that photo. This friend uncharacteristically weighed in with a response similar in tone - and vehemence - to the one above. Saying hes a great leader, he loves his country, hes sacrificed much for us and thats not selfish... I was shocked.
I assign it to some character trait that involves some kind of positive response to authoritarians, some blind willingness to follow (who they perceive to be) the strongest alpha. Shes not one who posts about owning the libtards, shes kind and reserved. Thats why that explosive response from her surprised me so much. Theres some trait in these people who remain steadfast supporters, causing them to literally SEE something 100% opposite when they look at him than what we see. They explain away and forgive his flaws because truly in their hearts they believe that following the strongest alpha, no matter what, is the safest course of action.

(17,530 posts)faith based politics. It boils down to only two simple concepts easy for simple minds to remember. Conservative=good. Liberal= bad, very, very bad.

(42,641 posts)It is easy to say "ignore them", but ignoring them will not make them go away. The biggest problem is that many of these delusional right wing voters vote with more regularity than most.
