this would be an unpopular OP.

Impeach him again?

There doesn't seem to be urgency. Maybe it's just me

As for journos - they need to band together at these PR events in the WH and follow up one another if he ignores them, or all turn their backs and walk out.

purse strings" perhaps, and oversight. For example, how dare Trump get rid of the federal watchdogs overseeing his discretionary use of the Coronavirus task force funds? Isn't there something we can do about that? I thought the Dems wrote that into the legislation and it was not something that could be casually discarded.

Also, where is our new committee to investigate Trump's negligence in the handling of the virus? I know we'll have to wait until some future date to actually call witnesses.

Demand that no documents be destroyed.

So, really, I agree we should be doing more.

He deserves it, for sure, but we know that he will never get removed by the Senate. And, it would give fodder for the Trump cult and media to criticize Democrats for being so political during a national crisis.

at three months until Jan 20 (when we inaugurate Biden/Harris*), to be a big nightmare. I want him off balance so that the only thing he's worried about is how he finds a fun place with no extradition treaty.

I think depending how badly we kick the snot out of him on Nov3, if we also get at least 50 Senators, he will resign claiming he couldn't lead without a mandate and leaves late night to no knows where like the Shah of Iran.

I think he'll be in an orange jumpsuit a bit later. And using an alias - Marlon Brando.

Bet his jail shot will be as bedraggled as Phil Specter's was.

Our documents and laws regarding the executive branch were written for people who were assumed to have honor and conscience. We are ill prepared for an entire party and president who has neither. There will need to be laws written and changes to documents to ensure another president never gets away with the amount of shit this one has.

Whole new ballgame.

Eric Bohlert on twitter today said that American journalists are not prepared to deal with an authoritarian government.

I second that.

You know who sees clearly? Authoritarianism expert Sarah Kendzior. I'm buying her new book Hiding in Plain Sight about the crisis of drumpf

That being said, if they impeach again tRump and the media will jump all over the Dems for playing politics during a crisis.

The Dems did their immediate job. At this point Repukes and voters MUST be held accountable.

In the next couple months when things go back to more normal the stock market is going to come back just in time for the election. I have said this a dozen times Republicans were willing to put us in another great depression. Not one single Republican voted for Obama's stimulus. Democrats gave him like $3 trillion and they are talking another round. I can see extending unemployment. But why a slush fund Trump can use for whatever he wants, it's crazy.

I take great exception to the suggestion that our leaders should "be doing more." I think it is both unhelpful, and also quite possibly detrimental in what are challenging and perilous times. So I disagree with you almost completely on this particular subject ... but I do not know that you are uninformed. I stand corrected.

Didn't the impeachment fiasco show anything? We get no where unless Moscow Mitch agrees, and right now, he has no intention of holding Trump accountable. WE need to get rid of as many republican office holders as possible, at EVERY election, that is the only way that change will come.
