Question about returning to work after COVID-19

I am working from home. About a week ago I found out that a coworker had the coronavirus. The company closed and disinfected the facility that the person worked in. It has since been re-opened.

Today I had occasion to talk to that person over the phone as part of my job. They told me that they had been sick for 2 weeks but are feeling better now. They also said that they never had a coronavirus test in the first place, but they had the symptoms. The tests were being rationed and they did not meet the criteria for test.

If you don't get the test when you are feeling sick, I suppose its not going to do much good to ask for one when you are no longer sick. So when is it safe for this person to go back to the job? Right now they feel fine except for feeling tired.

This is very murky stuff.

How many people out there have coronavirus and never have contact with the medical establishment? Is the tracking of the virus anywhere near the real numbers? When is someone who has had the virus and recovered considered safe to be around?

it's been approved (there are several versions). It needs to be brought up to scale. It will also show if YOU have been exposed and simply had NO symptoms.

Contact is safe on the later of 7 days after the start of symptoms OR 72 hours without a fever.
