I wonder if T. Modly is even aware of the uber irony of this quote from his misbegotten speach?

“If he didn’t think, in my opinion, that this information wasn’t going to get out into the public, in this day and information age that we live in, then he was either A, too naive or too stupid to be a commander of a ship like this,” Modly

I cannot believe how stupidly naive this man was to say such a thing to the crew of several thousand in this day and information age. Captain Brett Crozier in my opinion was perfectly aware of the outcome of his action, the evacuation of his ill crew members perhaps saving lives at the expense of his career.

Two verses come to my mind that Captain Crozier lived, regardless of his religious belief.

John 15:13-14 - Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.

Romans 5 - Why, one will hardly die for a righteous man—though perhaps for a good man one will dare even to die.

I salute Brett Crozier a mensch, a hero, a leader of leaders in this time when we are so in need of integrity, honor and self-sacrifice.

This imbecilic Commander in Chief has heaped so much dishonor on the military he is charged with leading from ordering our men and women in arms to abandon our allies (the Kurds) to the disgrace to the nation of releaving Captain Crozier of duty and attempting to heap dishonor on a man with more integrity and honor in his fingernail parings them the whole of the tRump administration.

With the unknown sailor I say, "What the fuck!"

This veteran is pissed.

Edit:
I want to add this poem by Walt Whitman - 1819-1892 which was inspired by the death of Lincoln. While Captain Crozier did not die a physical death he did die a death of sorts.

O Captain! My Captain!

O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up- for you the flag is flung- for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths- for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You’ve fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

This poem is in the public domain.

Every step of the way. Trump ordered him to fire the captain, but he hadn't counted on the backlash getting as big as it got and when he saw that the story wasn't going to go away he got rid of him. He can always get another acting (fill in the blank,) because the pattern doesn't change.

that such a high-profile firing would have been cleared through Trump's office. Trump keeps these "acting" officials in place so that he can personally control them.

Trump and team miscalculated the optics of firing an Officer for protecting his men. Trump would have had no idea the Captain Crozier, who was not a bully and did not live by extortion and bribery, could possibly have the "loyalty" of his men. Trump does not understand the difference in loyalty and submission. The draft-dodging president simply does not have the tools to understand how an ethical and honest man, would be willing to forfeit his career for his men; Trump would view such a man as a loser.

Moldy, and yes that is the spelling I prefer, was a man who could be bought, used, and discarded. A real Trump man. Don't be surprised if moldy shows up in a corporate boardroom as bribe to maintain his silence. However, he is also the kind of man that, if the money runs out, will be writing a book.

I am extraordinarily proud of the officers and crew of the Roosevelt. They refused to bow to illegitimate authority and abandon their captain; they are the real deal and you can count on them if you ever need them!

Go Navy!

A freaking WAR CRIMINAL, I cannot overstate that...... he PARDONED a WAR CRIMINAL. Found guilty of WAR CRIMES by his own. Not by some nebulous cabal , his OWN found him GUILTY of WAR CRIMES and our chump in chief PARDONED HIM!!!!

Please forgive the yelling/caps as this really pisses me off. 2 enlistment Army vet here. The amount of abuse he's heaped on my fellow veterans, their families and our Allies both long term and newer drives me up the wall.

ANY solider, sailor, airman or marine who STILL supports this clown shouldn't BE a solider, sailor, airman or marine in my opinion as it shows they are either a member of a dangerous cult perilous to our Constitution or too dim witted to wear the uniform.

Trump saw the sailors cheering Crozier, told Modly to go yell at those sailors, Modly flies from D.C. to Guam and yells at them. Trump sees the backlash, tells Modly to apologize. Modly apologizes. Then Trump fires him.

It is a disgrace to our country that we actuality accepted the worst

I think we have a collective reaction to the maelstrom created by the
toxic rages. The country is flinching in expectation of another
opportunity to stick it to us. We are cattle to him, merely background
noise. That is what the "base" are the ones are dying in droves are

Supposedly, Trump flew off the handle and said to relieve Crozier of command. And it looks like that Donkey Modly acted like a version of Trump denigrating Capt Cozier, probably thinking it would impress Trump. Course naturally the lying manipulator in chief saw the back lash from the public and didn't take responsibility for anything as always.
