Damn I hurt. "And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County"

I went to school in S.E. OH and studied the coal fields and what they did and John touched me.

I know John has had his health issues but this just stings. I went to school S.E. OH
aka Appalachia and John's music touched me.

"And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County
Down by the green river where paradise lay?"
"Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking
Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away"

skip

When I die let my ashes float down the Green River
Let my soul roll on up to the Rochester dam
I'll be halfway to Heaven with paradise waitin'
Just five miles away from wherever I am

My roots run deep on SE Ohio. Pike, Ross, Guernsey, Muskingum, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Washington counties. This song speaks to my ancestors.

interviewing him and playing clips of his songs. Too bad I tuned in late, but what I managed to catch was pure gold.
