What I am worried about...

Let say, due to people following stay-at-home orders and social distancing, the total number of people who pass away due to COVID-19 is much less then initially predicted. I am worried that Trump will claim that, because of HIS brilliant leadership, the pandemic was less severe then initially predicted and enough people will vote for Trump to throw the election his way even though we know that he is a moron.

Am I overthinking this... that Trump can claim victory if the total number of deaths turns out to be less severe and enough people will buy his line of BS and give him credit where absolutely none is due?

1. That will happen. Being responsible, the whole point is low number in deaths.

Then the assholes will say, see not as bad as we though and we didn't need to do all this. And yes, Trump will take credit.

Same if science comes up with an answer. Nothing to do with Trump and you know he will take the credit.

2. don't say initial predicted

they initially predicted that that we go from 15 cases to zero, that the virus would go away by magic in April...blah blah blah

They came out with the shocking 100K to 240K number because they knew it wouldn't likely get to be WORSE than that... and then they could spin it that Trump "saved lives".

The real shocker is the upper end of that range... someone thought we might actually get close to that.

Not only that, but a lot of deaths where Covid-19 is a contributor are not being counted in the official death total.

3. Anything that happens trump will claim because of him, if its good

Anything bad he accuses and blames others , but you can see he's trying to prevent testing, Hospitals from getting much needed supplies and equipment, and has some using ways to under count those effected and who have died. We'll find out red state Gov's are doing many things to prevent the real numbers from exposing them and trump. He wants to force people back to work before its fully safe, and will use defunding against states if Governors refuse to order them back, but no matter that he'll claim greatness for his actions , when the truth will be he caused thousands more to die from failing, failing badly. Yes he will claim he won. The truth is he has done everything he could do to make it worse, and intentionally hurt Americans doing that , and still is. He just doesn't care about Americans , just trumps, and his re-election.

deaths occurring in a hospital setting, even car wrecks, are covid.
As projection is a tactic often employed by trump, it makes me think that creative math is being used to give false numbers.

Are your neighbors OK? Do they have enough food? Are they able to prepare meals? If they have pets do they have enough food? Is anyone 'falling off the cliff psychologically? Are there roving bands of kids (poss super-spreaders) hanging out just 'being kids'?

tRump is actively destroying himself. I suggest you spend your energy making sure YOUR ppl are doing well.

There’s a mountain of evidence that provides more than enough factual basis that the entire response was botched from the get go.

Give it time; it will all come out in the wash.

In the mean time; our efforts to remain vigilant and safe are paramount to anything Trump says or does...

Things are going to get very ugly economically.

The stimulus is a band-aid on a bullet wound.

Lots of businesses won't reopen, lots of jobs won't come back. Those that do will cut spending, halt expansion, and freeze wages.

However, we have to be better at countering Trump's lies and propaganda because we know who he is and how he operates. Expecting anything better from Trumpco. is naive and setting oneself up to be disappointed. His moral turpitude is documented, it is up to us and our Democratic leaders to keep highlighting it.

whatever he needs to say to appease the morons that are easily swayed by his BS. It won't matter what the numbers are, idiots will buy what ever it is he is selling. There are those who are:
1. the willfully ignorant
2. his Kool-aid cult
3. the American with a memory of a gnat

You worried for a good reason.
