Can't sleep, frustrated, disgusted, enraged, nauseous.

After another 10 hour shift dealing with patients in petrified fear and frustration wearing hot sweat box of veritable space suit. I came home so damn shop worn and sticky, so tired of stripping and painstakingly bagging my scrubs to take to the hot wash akin to handling radioactive plutonium, soapy showering until certain I've murdered an exceptional percentage of integumentary flora and still worried this blight could be transmitted to my loved ones, pet care and home support. Barely able to muster the appetite to gingerly consume a microwave meal, falling asleep too tired to even get through one hour episode of a DVD serial...
And now up at 0430 with such angry insomnia that the idiots elected PHONEY BALONEY the CLOWN to handle dire and massively lethal calamity like it was a pesky inconvenient interruption to his royal jester repartory.

But I just wanted to send a warm fuzzy. It may be that knowing what you do is essential does not help with all of the things you're feeling and experiencing. And knowing that people around you care about you, even though you are "a stranger", because what you are doing is so vital to our country. may not help either. But I still send warm fuzzies.

The "thank you" memes and clapping at shift change don't do anything to change the war you are waging for us and the toll that war takes on your body and mind. I wish we could take the burden from you.

For what it's worth, I think you are a hero. Stay safe and tell us if there is anything we can do for you.

The dumbing down of the American voting public, combined with a huge deficit in teaching critical thinking skills, civics and American government, to the point where a joker like Trump could be elected pressident. After all, the red flags indicating that he was a fraud and a con man, as well as an aspiring dictator were obvious to all here on DU, and all who didn't sleep through their civics and American government classes in high school

I come from a family of nurses. Two retired. One 94 (we are trying to keep her alive at home) and the other 69. The third is daughter and granddaughter and on the front lines.

Thank you for all you do. lambchop.

Stay safe.
