has done it before, will do it again.
Today, the role of Captain Obvious is played by James Carville.

(23,224 posts)I'm not entirely sure that just getting a massive vote in our favor will be enough, given GOPher vote suppression tricks; will there also be a fair counting of those votes? and an accurate reporting thereof?
We gotta watch like hawks over these bastards! Monitor them on every front, anticipate every move they make. We cannot let them out of our sights!

(58,785 posts)the demographic progression, including women's equality as well, would force the Republican Party to become more inclusive and less segregated.
Instead they chose another way: Overset representative democracy and take power permanently.
With massive corruption of voters, press and government, culminating in the election of Trump and instillation as thousands of political agents, including the latest appellate and SCOTUS appointments (all of which Sanders was so helpful in enabling), they're now close to being able to take over. We're seeing a series of rulings assisting election theft.
Their RW fascistic, authoritarian, nativist government would probably keep a faux democracy as a front, like Russia's or Iran's. That way those inclined can deny the enormity of what we've lost, and no doubt continue the RW's tactic of blaming Democrats when people are unhappy about something. By the time that didn't work any more, it'd be far too late to wake up.

(58,785 posts)Trump's gone, the anti-Democrat left and the Republicans will amplify their synergistic outrage at corrupt Democrats who blocked action. They're already doing it.
But what the Republicans have done on their watch is far too huge to just make disappear with their usual confuse-the-citizenry tactic. A real risk is that Trump will survive, and if he does that means the the right will have taken a giant step toward full-blown fascism with support of the current genocide.

(16,254 posts)Dead silence (no pun intended). I don't think Brian or Steele knew how to respond.
That's one thing about Carville, he doesn't hesitate to speak his mind.

(4,032 posts)The only problem now is, were the ones who are alive to witness the absurdities.
My deceased mother-in-law, God bless her soul, always said they were a slippery party. Today is no exception. Weve had a preview of their next playbook chapter; How To Stop Mail-In Voting 101
This battle is yet to go full swing, but I have no doubt Republicans will twist, mold and distort any non-factual basis for mail in voting to their favor. Add to that our old friends Putin, Moscow Mitch, Billy Bob Barr, Whats His Name in the Oval Office, and the entire crap bag of Republican legislators, and we can visualize the tsunami about to roll in.
Hang on kids. This ones going to be a doozie. All of us, right now, should start our own election plans by getting non-voters to see the light, spread the word daily about factual absurdities of this administration, as the press is too afraid to call a spade a spade, use signage, social media up to the next three levels, and act, not sit, when we need the largest turnout in our countrys history.
