..Most people know that Chamberlain is remembered for his saying, (after signing a treaty with Hitler) We will have, "Peace in Our Time"..Most people do not know that Stalin was warned before the invasion of Russia by Hitler and Stalin ignored the warnings. Stalin had spies in Poland and they informed him that German troops were gathering at the border in what appeared to be a potential invasion. Stalin could not believe that his pal, Hitler, who he had signed documents with and told him he would not invade, would lie, so (I am not sure of this) Stalin went to sleep the night before the invasion, instead of taking any action. So, Trump is in good company with ignoring warnings.

This is twice in a row a Republican administration came in via an EC win/PV loss, showed open contempt toward its Democratic predecessor, were briefed on things to watch for, had plans of action already made and needing only implementation...

...and, confident they were the best brains in town, promptly dismissed all of that and redirected resources elsewhere, only to be caught flat footed by the very thing they'd been warned about.
