WASHINGTON With health experts warning that warmer months may not bring an end to coronavirus, officials are developing a framework for what Americas new normal could look like.
Members of a National Academy of Sciences committee said in a letter to the White House Tuesday that the data is mixed on if the virus spreads less easily in the heat, however that might not matter much given the lack of immunity.
With more than 432,000 cases and 14,817 deaths, the nation has already had to adjust to a world where social distancing is key to reducing the impact of coronavirus. Families gathered Wednesday night for virtual Passover Seders and weekend Easter celebrations are anticipated to be online as well for many.

(26,729 posts)On one end of the spectrum is the "goes away in April" nonsense. But the other end has been argued here with fervor (that it had already been determined that there would be no effect from warmer/wetter weather.
Neither extreme appears to be correct. But it does appear more and more likely that warmer weather is providing an assist and can help substantially as long as we don't ignore the fact that things get colder again in the Fall.

(82,849 posts)All I know is what he actually said, and if he didn't articulate his thoughts very well, I'll leave it up to him to clarify things. He's a big boy and should be able to say what he means. At this point, he's on record as saying that the warmer weather will make this whole thing go away, and that it will be like a miracle. If that's not what he meant, he should grow up, admit that he misspoke, and say what he really meant to say. That's solely up to him.
