I don't get it. I keep hearing and reading how right wingers are praising Trump for canceling flights to and from China when it was spreading fast over there. In fact, he keeps harping on it too patting himself on the back saying Dems were calling him racist for doing it etc. But what's the point of repeating this bs when it didn't really stop the virus from coming here.

1. Recent article says US cases came from Europe

So it was all those white people spreading it after all.

New research indicates that the coronavirus began to circulate in the New York area by mid-February, weeks before the first confirmed case, and that travelers brought in the virus mainly from Europe, not Asia.

“The majority is clearly European,” said Harm van Bakel, a geneticist at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, who co-wrote a study awaiting peer review.

A separate team at N.Y.U. Grossman School of Medicine came to strikingly similar conclusions, despite studying a different group of cases. Both teams analyzed genomes from coronaviruses taken from New Yorkers starting in mid-March.

Looks like ours came from Europe anyhow. But don't use facts with them. It really pisses them off.

3. Also, he didn't cancel FLIGHTS

Just Chinese nationals. With many exceptions to that ban (probably related to $$$). This is where the charge of “racism” comes from; he was NOT banning the flights, just the nationality of who could be on those flight. Kind of a text book example of racism, really.

The virus didn’t care if you were American or Chinese, it could hitch a ride with any human host. And most likely did. The story that tRump banned all FLIGHTS from China is a lie, and needs to be labelled as such.

...praise him for it, and the MAGAs salivate when the dinner bell is rung.

The great "out" is "it would have been worse if he hadn't acted so quickly".

The details of what actually happened are irrelevant or dismissed as "fake news."
