My first Twitter poll blew up yesterday - 6,241 votes for the first poll. Kamala Harris was the runaway winner. The surprise to me was Stacey Abrams beating Amy Klobuchar for 2nd place in the poll.

The poll beneath it seemed to be mostly ignored, but Val Demings edged out Gretchen Whitmer for the win there, which also surprised me.

(56,828 posts)When Teddy Kennedy passed away, the Dem governor (Deval Patrick) appointed Paul Kirk to hold the seat on an interim basis until the special election was held 4 months later. With a highly popular Republican governor in Mass, it might not be as easy for the Mass legislature to change the law again.

(16,616 posts)I voted for Kamala Harris but would have voted for Susan Rice had it been an option. Nice to see Val Demings do so well.
Thanks for doing that poll and posting the results.

(7,133 posts)I think Whitmer or Klobuchar would be awesome! A Biden-Harris ticket would be east/west coasts leaving the middle of the country wide open for Trump demagoguery.
I don't get the Stacey Abrams vibe. She is talented but c'mon... from a brief stint as state legislator to vice president of the United States? If she's that special why is she not running for a Senate seat?

(6,246 posts)I like Abrams a lot, but she does not deserve to be VP.

(21,841 posts)I had never heard of her. (Yes, I just looked her up) And by the percentage she received I'm not the only one.

(63,221 posts)We need some charisma on this ticket and she is smart, talented and qualified. She is clearly the best choice.
