Americans have already rejected Don the Con

His fall will be stupendous, historic. Don't rule out the possibility that he jumps ship before November.
ReTHUG will be wiped out. The US will need prisons not emergency hospitals by then because men (and women) are grabbing what they can with tasteless haste.
That is all.

But now we're watching voting's life being attempted. I'm finally figuring out what's going on with the post office and we are close to the edge. Like the scene in the movie when one tire is over the edge of the road by the cliff and the ocean's below.

206 days until the election.

Although, I don't think Trump will voluntarily quit. The Republican Senate will possibly pull something to get him out of there, install Pence and another order following VP. Then the can say, yes we saw the problem and now it is safe to vote Republican once again.

Or, with Putin's skills, they will be confident in cheating on the election, winning the election by hook or by crook, and keep on keeping on......

The republicons have come way too far to not reach their goal of a Corporate Fascist Tyranny in the 2020 election....

There will be alot of "20-20" hindsight going on after Nov 3rd.......(pardon the pun)

Donald Trump is planning on remaining for life; it's the only thing that's keeping him free from prison. He cannot be indicted for any crimes as long as he is POTUS. The minute he is not President, he will face indictments for multiple crimes. I think he won't lose, because there may not even be an election. And if there is, he will say the Democrats cheated, or some such nonsense. Bottom line though, is I don't think he will go quietly. I hope I'm wrong.

Things the new administration will be prosecuting him and his family and enablers for. The only way he doesn't get some jail time is to resign and let Pence pardon him for the federal crimes and try to cut a deal w/ Cumo on State charges that the statue of limitations have not run out on. Or the only other path would be to refuse to relinquish power.
Trump is highly susceptible to rumors be they true or not and this kind of talk would surely go viral.

Republicans are always interested in finding ways to compensate for that.

Don't believe for a second that they won't try this time as well. Their attitude will be, once again, "yeah, he's a dangerous, incompetent pieces of shit, but he's OUR dangerous, incompetent piece of shit, so we're doing everything we can to make sure he stays in office."

He is never going to quit. He is never going to resign. Trump is stupid, but he has the survival instincts of an animal. He knows the minute he resigns, the Southern District of New York will land on him like a runaway planet. He really, really doesn't want to go to jail.

Resigning so Pence can pardon him is a risky throw of the dice. He has to be convicted of a crime before he can be eligible for a pardon. Ford's pardon of Nixon in the absence of a trial and conviction won't fly a second time.

We have to vote him out. Bottom line.

republicans still in control of their mental abilities will finally step up and remove him jointly in cooperation w/ the democratic representatives. It is getting ridiculous, with literally no president at the helm, just a spoiled man child.

It'll be too late for the republican party, they'll undergo one of the biggest defeats ever and the party will be demoted to a shell of itself. The criminal aftermath will last years, as some will rat out their former rat pack mates to escape criminal prosecution (bribes, insider trading, depravity to life, etc.).

You vastly underestimate the gullibility of the American people.
We are suckers for a flashy, fake pitch.

The danger if even more present because Trump has a huge, HUGE, war chest he's been building for 3 1/2 years and will throw it all on the few states he needs to win the electoral college.

Trump will promise them the moon and they will hear it many times every single day and begin to believe it.
Biden will offer what realistically he expects to provide and they will only hear that occasionally.

It's going to be hard, if not impossible, for Biden to compete effectively.

I say, show me the upside of Trump at this point. The converted are MAGAzied. The opposition is informed (they weren't in 2016). Independents are showing their good government side, which is considerable at most times. Elections are open scrutiny, with significant litigation at the drop of a hat. Ok, Don the Con could go there. Will he have a lot of sympathy? He could peel off a state in a close election I suppose, but 2 or 3 of them to switch 50 electoral votes? He has money. No one is listening. His schemes to trash Joe Biden are widely known. Americans are dropping dead from his negligence. The economy is in the hands of the printing press of the Fed and Congress. Fox News is being questioned about their content, though it remains in his hip pocket.

Show me the upside. These are the reasons I believe malaise OP.
