Pres. Obama tweet:

Some good news: states that started social distancing early and aggressively, like California, have avoided overwhelmed health care systems. It’s critical that we continue to listen to the evidence and experts and practice social distancing.

We obviously need to continue social distancing until infections are down to nearly zero. I fully expect tRump and some states to end precautions before then, in which case we'll see a second round of deaths.

And yes, it's refreshing to hear from an actual articulate adult for once.

Until a vaccine is developed, widely distributed, and proven effective--maybe even after that--I'll continue or go beyond every reasonable precaution currently recommended. (By "reasonable" I mean I'm still using my grocery bag whenever possible. I keep it very clean and bag my own stuff anyway.) I'm gettin' too old to survive this sort of thing.

I never thought I'd say it but...kudos to my workplace! Rather than start massive layoffs, they're putting us "essential" workers with relatively little to do on an alternating weekly "standby" status at full pay. They only real reason for them to do so is to flatten the curve and keep it flattened, so good on them!
