Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsTrump is going to open up the country early and screw this up. Mark my word!
He is NOT a logical, scientific believing person. Deep down we all know he is going to fuck this up. He has NO impulse control as we see with his Twitter addiction. He is out of his mind and he will pull the plug early. This will take right back off, we won't have enough testing or anything prepared and it will be a full blown clusterfuck AGAIN!

(34,070 posts)Ohio's red governor has made it very clear that the opening will be slow, and governed by science (no matter how loud the protestors outside the statehouse get).

(15,801 posts)Everything in May in our county has been cancelled. Can we really make it to June doing this? Im bored as it is.

(18,672 posts)You're lucky. Some people are fighting for their lives right now. Others have lost their loved ones. At least we are flattening the curve right now, as boring as that might seem saving lives.
If we open up the country too soon, our hospitals will be inundated and we'll have a 2nd wave and a spike of deaths. It looks like Trump is willing to let people die because he's terrified a poor economy will affect his numbers. I'm not, and neither are the majority of Americans.

(34,070 posts)You are correct that he will make some stupid pronouncement, which the governors will ignore - just as they ignored his stupid Easter announcement.

(6,931 posts)Would people go to a ball game with 20 thousand others at the end of May? I wouldn't. Another fact for FatNixon and DeSantis, the group with the 28% of all CV in Kansas are in the 20-44 range. So much CV ignoring young really healthy people.

(10,177 posts)The panel will reportedly include Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, senior adviser and daughter Ivanka, director of the National Economic Council Larry Kudlow and various private-sector representatives.
With a rogues' gallery of corruption, greed and stupidity like this, can there be any doubt they will sell out the country's health and welfare to the highest bidder?

(1,176 posts)Is working on a plan to open things back up. I wouldn't be surprised if we are the first state to try to do it. The results won't be good. But as usual, it's profits over people. By the way, Texas has only tested .5% of its population. Have to keep the numbers low, don't you know.
Windy City Charlie
(1,178 posts)Also, mark my words, we're not too many weeks away from Trump trotting out phony numbers to try and claim more people are dying from the economic hardships of this than from the virus itself.
