Brazilian health officials confirmed the first case of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, among the remote Yanomami tribe in the Amazon.

Health Minister Luiz Henrique Mandetta said at a press conference on Wednesday that a 15-year-old boy from the indigenous tribe has tested positive for the disease.

Mandetta said that the case was "worrying," particularly because of the remote community's separation from the outside world.

When the dead Earth spirals down to collide with the white dwarf that our sun will become, the only good thing is that all life on Earth will have been dead for billions and billions of years.

Worship mother nature and you have an average life expectancy in the 30s, primarily because of high infant mortality. Some studies showed that hunter gatherers had a lot of free time. It was so much better than modern life. Follow up research showed that the first research forgot things like planning and tool preparation. And both left out differences in food prep and other presumably irrelevant labor. So it was better than modern life until you factored in the rest of the crap that had to be excluded in order to support the conclusion. There's no way the researchers, even if they were clueless grad students, could have missed all the labor they excluded. But the time commitment turned out to be roughly the same and they'd have had no thesis. All hail the thesis.

Oh. And life expectancy was still in the mid 30s.
