Trump Administration Tells Employers Not To Worry About Recording COVID-19 Cases

[link:https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5e91cc70c5b6f7b1ea8218bf|

Only health care facilities and select other employers will have to figure out if infections happened at work. Safety advocates are beside themselves

The Trump administration announced Friday afternoon that employers outside of the health care industry generally won’t be required to record coronavirus cases among their workers, a decision that left some workplace safety advocates incredulous.

COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, is classified as a recordable illness, meaning employers would have to notify the Occupational Safety and Health Administration when an employee gets sick from an exposure at work. But the nation’s top workplace safety agency now says the majority of U.S. employers won’t have to try to determine whether employees’ infections happened in the workplace unless it’s obvious.

Likely trying to ensure employers aren't sued for wrongful deaths! 🤬 And to keep workers in dangerous environment! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

He'll find a way to doctor the books.

For sure.....he wants the numbers to be fudged. All he has in mind is helping his re-election efforts. Furthermore, I look for them to start reporting false numbers in regards to the number of people losing their lives due to the economic impact of the virus. Wouldn't doubt at some point they'll report more people have died due to losing their lives than those who have died from the virus itself.

If he can do this, what's to stop him from under reporting the number of cases from the health care sector?

But no one is talking about what that means, whether short- or long-term immunity are even real, or what organ damage may be present.

I can't tell you how much I wish he would come down with this virus and be taken out by it. The man is truly evil. He does not have one ounce of concern for the people of this country. It's all about him.

For over 40 years whenever Republicans have the power, they grab every opportunity to increase the power of business in all spheres and make working people more abusable and exploitable.

Republican leaders have been using Trump to trash and depower OSHA since he took office. Numbers of workplace inspectors are at an all-time low, nonenforcement of many laws has become normal, and workplace fatalities were rising before the COVID deaths began.

WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE would use a very lethal disease to LOWER workplace protections?

The Republican leaders have become so extremist and betraying that they are actively enabling deaths of American workers to serve their wealthy donors.
