850 a week. Pennsylvania is 1179 a week. California 1050 a week. And a lot of companies are paying their employees during this.

3. That $1050 a week in California is only for the highest paid employees.

It's $450 per week CA unemployment + 600 per week Federal gov't unemployment. The additonal $600 per week from Feds is for 4 months only (If I recall correctly)

Don’t they have supermajorities in both houses and the governorship. Heck Pennsylvania has a Republican Congress with a Democratic Governor and their top is over 100 dollars more then California.

poor and the working class, the part timers, gig workers, self employed, the SS recipients, and all the rest get tossed a handful of chicken scratch.

American workers are constantly getting shortchanged in comparison to our European counterparts. Do we need to show gratitude that the Federal govt gave us back a pittance of what we've been paying in taxes? No. Do we need to spend that miserly money to coax corporate giants to re hire workers to produce consumer goods. It's not nearly enough.

The citizens of those other countries have their robust stimulus money to drive their economies. Our plan is weak; it's too little and doesn't cover a long enough period of time to be effective either for the people or shoring up the economy.

6. Some of those countries have 60 percent taxes and that's for lower wage earners

I don’t think our lower wage earners pay anything in income. I wouldn’t mind but I think there would be a revolt if we had those taxes. Oh and the vat.

will help the maximum number of people. The whole wage system needs to be restructured. The federal govt can, and should do much more to uplift people and find ways to increase the opportunities for everyone to find success. Taxes should be used to fund services that benefit people, not just keep buying more bullets and sweet perks for the silver spoon crowd.

Yes, taxes must be raised because we have done very little to build a modern infrastructure for over half a century. As a country we can't keep going on without massive building projects to sustain our way of life. We don't even support people with healthcare, education, child care, family leave, housing or public transportation.

It will be expensive in the short term, but the payoffs will benefit almost everyone.

9. The vast majority of working class people in this country pay taxes. Only ppl who make $12,000/less

per year don't pay taxes.

Let's see $12,000/12 months = $1000 per month = $250/week = $6.25 per hour. I think the federal minimum hourly wage is $7.xx, so that means the number of people not paying taxes in minimal.
