Intelllicast wanted US Weather Service to not provide forecasts to the public, only data for the others to sell.

...and had the USPS argument with a group of Trump humpers.

I read in an article that Trump said he won't sign if there's money allocated to USPS because USPS is unprofitable. My reaction to that was "so what? It's not designed to be profitable. It's a public service. It's just supposed to operate."

I tried to paint a picture or plot some dots in hopes they would connect them.

1) Do you believe you are entitled to receive your letters and packages that come in the mail?
2) If yes, you'd be shit outta luck if UPS and FedEx won't deliver anything to you if they believe delivering to your area is unprofitable. The post office will deliver to you regardless. The postal service will deliver to the most remote parts of the country if that means the people get their mail.

The GOP has done a great job with convincing people that the postal service isn't a public good but rather a for-profit entity, which I'm sure is apart of the larger scheme of discrediting mail-in voting.

Voting by mail is the one thing they want to prevent because they know they would lose.

Because my husband is blind. We never mail our ballots though, we drop them at the local school on voting day

Curbside drop off would be fairly easy to set up in an organized state

If you have to go somewhere to pick up your ballot, you might as well just go and vote in person.

Local county offices maybe

I actually don’t see the USPS shutting down, reduced service days maybe. We’re getting very little mail right now as it is. Twice a week might be a good step to take.

I drive (or cycle, weather permitting) to city hall and hand them to the city clerk staff. They have a drop box if weather's too lousy to get out of the car.

Without the USPS, I won't get advertising and requests for money from the Republican party.

I don't think the USPS will actually be shut down for any length of time. (I hope)
