(27,995 posts)But facts are facts. I truly hope the moron doesn't fire Fauci. We really need him right now.

(67,108 posts)TV during tRump's propaganda show. Paranoid tRump often looks at him sideways through the corner of his eye. I bet he's definitely on the short list for the orange blob to dump if he thinks he can get away with it. None should tell the truth in a tRump administration.

(24,412 posts)On the one hand, Dr. Fauci gives Trump and the Task Force some credibility. He's probably one of the few, if only, reasons most people tune into the Task Force pressers. Him and Birx, although she seems to be doing more than him to kiss Trump's butt, so she's probably safe in her job even though she seems less credible. Trump dumps Fauci and a lot of people stop watching the pressers. Plus, if Fauci leaves, Trump won't be able to muzzle him and prevent him from answering questions he doesn't want him to answer. Also, Fauci wouldn't be bound in terms of giving interviews, testimony, etc. (and he probably wouldn't go along with Trump trying to block Congressional testimony). I sort of feel like Fauci is walking a fine line and it's better that he's there on the inside, where at least he can offer dissenting opinions and views, although that's the last thing that Trump likes to hear, but I worry what's going to happen if all of the dissenting voices completely go away. We've seen how bad things have progressively gotten with the Trump (mis-)administration as one individual after another has been fired, resigned, etc. over the years, most of whom, while not great people in general, were a bit wiser and mature than Trump clearly is.

(836 posts)When *45 fires Dr. Fauci the Biden campaign should hire him and start having frequent No Malarkey fact based briefings. Give people facts they can use. Loop in governors like Newsom, Whitney and Cuomo. Show our citizens and the world what calm competent leadership looks like.
