We remark too often about trumps rage tweeting. I want to talk about real, visceral, rage.

It’s coming, rage, on a scale not seen since the Boston Massacre. We all know that right now concern is directed primarily towards the defeat or at least the containment and mitigation of the covid scourge. But a day will finally come when we can turn our selves towards an equally pressing matter....when we have buried our dead, healed our sick and recognized our frontline medical community.

Trump and the Republican Senate conspired to obfuscate and lie about their hand in the disaster that this viral assault on America became. They were warned, they even told each other, they even sold stock to avoid the known immediate economic consequences. They have continued to enrich themselves and their special friends while Americans die.

They knew, not in late March or April, not in February or January....they knew in November and December. And they knew of the potential for this type of threat for much much longer. They intentionally and with callous disregard for life, for our constitutional security, and for the safety of our collective future lied about the impending immediate danger we were in. They even considered letting the virus wash over the nation.

Our dead and sickened, the blood of thousands of innocent victims is represented by the red symbolism of the Republican Party, is on their hands.

When the average person in America has the time, and realizes the culpability of the republicans in this nation for the extent to which this virus succeeded, and that their primary concern was enriching themselves., the rage will begin.

It will start as a slow simmer as recognition starts to build. Conversations that lead to stunned disbelief, reports that expose horrendous intentional harm done to us, evidence that will decry the endless lies of right wing news organizations. That slow simmer will be short lived. It will ignite into a justifiable conflagration that will be a sight to shiver the most hardened . We may well see a return of the 1960’s, greatly amplified.

The republicans have sown the wind....they will reap the whirlwind.

There is going to be a whole host of problems after. Mental health will probably be one of the most crucial areas to address. PTSD, survivors guilt, all the same shit you see our vets enduring. Rage filled outbursts will be common place, that anger has to escape somehow .

Those with any responsibility for this must watch their backs.
