I may have made a mistake. I sent my wife's paper Unemployment Compensation

Last edited Mon Apr 13, 2020, 01:32 PM - Edit history (1)

Application Priority Mail to the U.C. Post Office Box in Tallahassee. It has been at the Tallahassee Post Office since 9:15 a.m. on Friday and is still undelivered, with USPS tracking showing no expected delivery date. Does anyone have any idea why that might be? My only one is the Post Office Box is so jammed they have stopped putting stuff into it. I worry they might be holding it at the counter for pickup by the unemployment people. So that makes two, I guess.

Insert random vile profanity here.

Thank you to everyone who replied! My blood pressure went down as I read your responses. The Florida DEO probably received half a million pieces of mail in the last week.

My local post office was closed when only 9 out of 61 employees showed up for work. We have had one postal worker die of CV.
The other local post office has closed and we have been directed to a further one. Some people in my area did not have delivery for two weeks. My building didn’t have mail for one week but that has eased up now.
It’s bad out there. The Tallahassee office might be in a new hot zone.

lost a number of veteran workers, which has caused misrouted mail when those people were replace with new hires. I expect it's happening everywhere.

It would go in bins that are either trucked to the physical address or picked up by the institution. It may be that the Tallahassee Post Office is overwhelmed with mail. Expect delays even when delivered.

Although I think "Fuck You Slacker!" is their real motto. I remember being interviewed by a young, just out of college woman regarding my inability to find a job at age 64 or 65. She asked what I thought the reason was. I said, "not being 20 years younger."

We sent our accountant (in another state) our tax materials by priority mail at the beginning of March, and the tracking wasn’t showing that it was delivered, even 5 days later. We called the office, and they said it had been delivered three days earlier—right on time. It could be that workers just aren’t keying in the tracking, or doing it incorrectly.
