(149,681 posts)I was really watching to see where you placed Pete Buttigieg. SecDef would be great and a real feather in his cap.
I am not sure how good being Chief of Staff would be, but that may be because I'm not sure what that role entails.
I do want him in a position that will give him plenty of "experience" since so many thought he was lacking there. He's very bright and will come up to speed quickly, wherever he's placed.

No science to it on my part - just moved a couple of "Deputy" secretaries from Obama's 2nd term into lead roles and played a few hunches on others.

She's also earned a rest.

(56,828 posts)are maybe two of the smartest people in Congress. Porter might be great as a Labor Secretary as well. However, I think Schiff might be great at Homeland Security or as Director of National Intelligence.
From what I've heard, Hakeem Jeffries may be next in line for Speaker.

(16,937 posts)but, MY GAWD, she's done 20 years worth of work in the past 2 years - and with help from her Democratic House members, SAVED our country up to this point. I cringe to think where we would be or what would have happened without her leadership.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)to get their votes for her as Speaker was to promise to serve only 2 more terms as Speaker.

(56,828 posts)as well - 51 years old now, so is a perfect age to step in to replace Breyer and be on the Court for 30+ years.

(1,803 posts)And there is Cuomo. Ive heard rumors a while back that he could be Bidens Chief of Staff, but i dont see him giving up his position as NYs Governor-for-Life to become Chief of Staff. More recently, Ive heard rumors about him possibly becoming Secretary of Homeland Security. I think he probably would want Secretary of State so he can burnish his foreign diplomacy skills to set him up to run for President in 2024 or 2028.

(8,203 posts)Senate Majority Pac is reaching into the states (I am in AZ) where con senators are vulnerable..received mail yesterday..2020 races to watch..
Maine..Collins, Cornyn Texass, Colorado Gardner, Georgia - after watching GA rig the election against Stacy Abrams, need to put on a full-court press..and with the dive Loeffler has taken, means both GA seats up for grabs, and Kentucky..ditch Mitch effort..
They go on to say Graham, McSally AZ all in for Mark Kelly, Tillis, and Perdue are on the Expand the map list..
This will be up to each of us in our states to flip the Senate with a majority high enough in order to have Klobachar, or Harris, Sanders, Warren -
Each Democratic candidate MUST bring along their supporter..Biden and Sanders speaking together is a great start...
In the letter, Senate Majority Pac, included a decal BLUE/Red "Flip the Senate"..too bad I can't display it..too many nuts around..

I like Buttigieg at state as well - speaks a zillion languages and I like the image of a gay man as the top US diplomat with so many homophobic anti-gay regimes around the world

(15,805 posts)Too much baggage for some, too many dislikes or distrust for others. The also-rans may have their own agenda that would come into conflict with Biden.
Katie Porter would be my pick for AG. She decapitates her opponents so cleanly they never knew what hit them. Kamala Harris is a bit of a cage fighter (remember her pitbull attack on Biden) but she'd be an big asset in restoring the status of the State Dept.
