who intend to re-open their states in order to appease Trump:
The Consequence: The virus will spread, leading to a spike in deaths.
The Outcome: The dead cant vote, and the survivors wont vote for the Republicans who caused the deaths of their family members, neighbours and friends.

(4,457 posts)They know that if they are voted out, a multi-million dollar prize awaits them as consultants, corporate board members, and Fox news analysts.
They dont care how many people die.

(21,280 posts)We will definitely have a 2nd wave if several red states open up too soon.
Trump stated today that it's up to the states to do the testing and to provide the test kits. It's obvious why he is doing this, he doesn't want to test, he doesn't care if people die as long as they are not counted. He thinks by under-testing and low balling the numbers it will help him, he is making a terrible mistake, it is going to kill many more people.
Trumpers are going to be mad if they can't go to pro wrestling events.

(1,204 posts)If a state opens up too early from this lockdown, the adjoining states should not allow traffic to enter their states if they are still in lockdown.

(111,222 posts)Governor Kristi Noem (R, of course) refused to shut anything down or issue any guidelines to stay home as much as possible. Now SD is home to one of the biggest localized clusters of the virus, a pork processing plant. That plant has shut down for at least a couple of weeks, endangering part of the country's food supply.
Republicans. You can always count on their picking the worst possible leaders and then following those leaders right down the drain.
Reopening anything is not without risk. Cases will spike.

(8,802 posts)But given the way they are acting, they must have this election in the bag with all their graft & vote rigging, and after that they are thinking that there will never be another election if they get their way???????

(27,813 posts)... but no, I'm not buying. McConnell has been frantic to get judges appointed ASAP - because he knows the window of opportunity will be closed as of January 2021.
The GOP will stand by their man until it becomes too toxic to the party to do so - and given The Dotard's 'daily briefing' fiascos, that day may come sooner rather than later.

I rate you right up there with Molly Ivins, Hunter Thompson and a select few others! LOL
My most favorite fantasy is you, Hillary, AOC, Warren, Pelosi being in his face, each and every single day, given the way he explodes and reacts when criticized by Women. Driving him into having a massive cereberal aneurism, right there on stage......LOL

(23,078 posts)We are fucked and there's nowhere near that won't be fucked. I never thought I'd live in a country where they'd kill their people on purpose - but guess what - it's here and we are. So sad and frustrated. Can't wait to get my shoulder better so I can be retrained on the app and start volunteering again with FL Dems. We flipped our country blue in 2018 and our goal is to do the same with 2020.
