PUTTING TRUMP'S NAME ON STIMULUS CHECKS IS 'ABUSE OF GOVERNMENT RESOURCES,' SAYS PRESIDENT OF IRS MANAGERS ASSOCIATION

he national president of an organization for IRS managers accused the Trump administration of abusing federal government resources by putting the president's name on paper stimulus checks due to be mailed out to Americans in the coming weeks.

Chad Hooper, national president of the IRS's Professional Managers Association, suggested to The Washington Post that changing the checks to add President Donald Trump's name would delay the IRS sending them out to households.

"In this time of need for additional resources, anything that takes our focus from getting those checks out the door and hampers the equitable, fair administration of the tax code is not something we can support," Hooper told the Post, calling it "an abuse of government resources."

The Treasury Department denied this and said the checks will go out on time and as planned with no delay at all. Newsweek has approached Hooper and the Treasury Department for additional comment. The White House has also been asked for comment.

Trump wanted his name put on the signature line at the bottom. But that would make the checks invalid because he isn't authorized to sign government checks.

So his name will be put on the side instead

9. Wouldn't that make it a campaign ad, paid for by tax dollars and using a government agency?

I thought that sort of thing was illegal.

A fresh outrage to replace the last one. The same thing with defunding the WHO. He just wants people taking about this bullshit so we’re not talking about his wretched non-response to and inept handling of this crisis.

By implying the money came from him personally, a generous gift to the recipients, Trump is attempting to buy votes.

His ignorant fans won't see that only as an authorized expenditure, an official appropriation of taxpayer's money that was voted on by House Democrats. Trump's know nothing base will only see his signature on their checks reinforce his image as their all powerful leader.

But now they want Trump's name on checks that Democrats fought to have in the stimulus.
