On a Monday overwhelming with Big News, these two events kinda got lost.

Impeached president Donald Trump declared himself a dictator.

Democratic governors (and one Republican) banded together on the West Coast and Northeast to actually do the things that the federal government, in its rank incompetence, has utterly abdicated.

Both events are related.

First of all, Trump really did declare himself a dictator.

Glad you posted that one for people to consider carefully.

I have been detailing my observations about Trump wanting to turn the Presidency into a full-blown dictatorship for a while now. My view is that this has been his modus operandi from the start and that the GOP is complicit in that for their own reasons.

If is odd now to have people say things to me like: "You know, when you were going on about that, I thought you had your head up your ass, but now I see what you mean..." I guess it is just too difficult to imagine something like that in high office, but it took a real confidence man to pull this off, of course, with the help of the GOP.

Our democracy, (what little we have had) is truly under assault. I hope that realization will get people to awaken and mobilize, especially in regards to this crucial and critical election coming up. It will be one of the most important and pivotal ones in history.
