4. Election or no election, his term is up January 20, 2021

Without a national election, he and Pence are out and the number three in line, Nancy Pelosi, becomes president. If no place has its election (and Nancy Pelosi is not elected by her district), number four in line is the Senior Majority Senator who didn't face an election. Because so many Republicans are up for election, the Democrats would become the majority party by default and Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) would become president.

Not accounting for what happens to the power dynamic once outgoing senators are gone, it would fall to Senate President Pro Tempore if state governments don't appoint representatives who would then choose a new Speaker before January 20, 2021 in the event that there is no election.
