The moment the “lockdown” lifts, bunches of idiots will go out without masks, and infect one another. In a month, deaths will begin to skyrocket, and a new high in deaths will be recorded.

Hopefully by that time we’ll have more PPE available for the remaining health care workers, provided they don’t all quit.

I want to see reporting for Florida similar to what they did in New York comparing the overall number of deaths last month to the same month last year.

There's no way the numbers in Florida are as low as what is being reported.

Because there's not enough testing and Republican states are undercounting deaths there's no way to know how many people have already been infected and which states have hit their peaks already yet or not.

My sense is that the South and Midwest still haven't seen the worst of it and given the lack of action taken by the governors there it is likely to be as bad or worse than what we've seen in New York.

But maybe it already is and we're just not being told...

Look at the levels of "atypical illness" being reported in Florida by digital thermometers and tell me there isn't an obvious outbreak there that isn't being captured in the official statistics.

... so I wonder what they're calling the hospitalized that die of CV.

The reason why the death rate in NY is so high is because of the lack of testing, the lower test numbers means higher death rates when people die in hospitals.

We refuse to acknowledge truth, on so many levels, that we are ungovernable.

I weep for my country.

I suspect that a lot of people in the Deep South, Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky will be departing this life. I fear that the COVID virus death toll will match US military deaths during the Vietnam or the Korean wars sometime this year.
