The CDCs Guidelines and instructions for DIY face masks.

There's a lot of discussions on DU and elsewhere about facemasks, and a lot of unsafe info is going around. Here is the real deal, the genuine info from the CDC that every DIYer, crafter and home sewer needs to know. I've included a few links to some online resources without endorsement, there are many websites offering similar services and you'll find one that suits you best.

...
The CDC released directions for several DIY masks, as well as a short instructional video outlining its no-sew mask-making advice.

The CDC calls these "face coverings" with only two layers of fabric, unlike "facemasks" with three layers:

...
Joann's fabrics offers several different patterns including some they say are comparable to the N95:

...
Wazoodle is a huge online fabric store. They have a pretty cool Face Mask Fabric Finder to help DIYers get the right stuff:

...

There are oodles of instructions, patterns and styles proliferating all over the internet. Some are mainly just for show, a fashion accessory, but others are designed to provide real safety and protection. There are some mask patterns that have a built in pocket for inserting the filter, allowing the user to replace then as needed. You can find instructions for the "3D" type masks as well as many other patterns. YouTube videos are very helpful for those who aren't expert sewers.

Anyway, be safe and informed and be sure you understand the purpose of these facemasks. Then decide what you want a mask to do for you in these times of the corona virus.

sweatshirts last year and they were good quality and the imprinted designs did not peel or flake off. While I was researching the face masks I found some cute cat prints for t-shirts so I'll have to go buy a couple of yards before to gets too hot.
