Anyone else having more and more strange dreams these days?

All that conscious and subconscious anxiety seems to be manifesting itself at night.

Last night I dreamed that I was looking over the large field that was next to my childhood house and I saw all sorts of tracer-like anti-aircraft fire going off, like what we saw in the Gulf War.

It was somewhat unnerving.

And there was a pandemic killing people by the 10's of 1000's, and his stupid ass was withholding aide to fight the pandemic to Blue States unless they lick his boots.

It was pretty damn freaky and unnerving

People who should tell the truth lie all the time. People who do tell the truth get in trouble, get fired, threatened with criminal prosecution, receive death threats. Things that should happen don't, things that do happen shouldn't. There are idiots everywhere. Good guys wear masks, bad people don't. Everything I enjoy I cannot go to. It fucking sucks. When I sleep in this dream the weird shit stops, but I keep dreaming I wake up and it is the same shit show again. My hair, beard and nails grow in this nightmare, so it must be a long dream. People are dying in this nightmare and all the TV shows happen from people's homes. The streets are pretty empty in this bad dream. What the fuck is going on?

Right now, when I am able to sleep (we got a new mattress right before this so I sleep a bit better), I have horrible dreams.

An office desk with a computer and chair. A table with a finished puzzle of an outdoor scene. A large metal bed frame, but no mattress. Several curtains hanging from the walls, but no windows.

I was busy dismantling everything except the office desk and chair. I had an overwhelming feeling that I was going to take everything I did not need outside to the garbage. For some reason I could not get the puzzle off the table, so I started gathering the pieces of the bed frame together and pulling down curtains.

I woke up while trying to dismantle the table with the puzzle still intact.

Last night I dreamed about killing someone in self-defense. Repeated head-bashing was involved, but I succeeded in keeping him from shooting me.I've had periods of nightmares in the past, and I hope this doesn't herald the beginning of another round.

they are partiularly strange, but more dreaming. I mentioned this to my wife a week or so back. Maybe it is related to 'our' time, i.e. not going out, the news etc. At the same time I do not feeel partiularly stressed.

And now that you mention it, it really seems to have started, oh, around 3 and 1/2 years ago. Not necessarily political dreams, but serious anxiety dreams.

When I can sleep, I often wake up stressed out because I feel like my dreams were so disturbing - not exactly nightmares, but more like every anxiety I have ever had coming to life. Every fear, every insecurity, every neurotic thought just seems to come alive. Not the best way to start the day. I would give anything for a peaceful night's sleep and to wake up refreshed and ready to face the day. Instead, I just want to pull the covers over my head and stay in bed.
