If you divide the number of deaths today by a large aircraft going down...I used 175 souls...
it means that we have had 197 plane crashes since early March. It is numbing.

(6,145 posts)In less than one month. Starting March 24th. Three+ weeks.
Whoever said this is like the flu.... was wrong. This isn't like the flu.
My therapist was one of those "it's like the flu" people. I bought into in for a few days. But then the numbers were creeping up. I estimated 2000 in two weeks. It was 2000 in three days.
I keep waiting to know someone. And whoever it is, it will be someone I care about. This is very random. Six degrees of separation. Someone you don't know, standing next to you. And all of a sudden you're dying.
Stay home, people. Stay safe, stay well, stay home.

(64,975 posts)Bennett yesterday used the 61,000 deaths from the flu.
Actually the CDC guess(!) is 12,000-61,000 so, of course he picked the high number.
Anyway, even with that fool's number, that was 61,000 in ONE YEAR. About 168 a day.
This one has killed 31,600 in 27 days! That's 1,171 per day!
It's not just the flu, Billy. You dolt!
