Washington Post: “Trump’s the-buck-stops-with-the-states posture is largely designed to shield himself from blame should there be new outbreaks after states reopen or for other problems, according to several current and former senior administration officials involved in the response.”

“Governors have said one of the most important factors in making those determinations is testing data, but Trump’s plan does not contain a national testing strategy. Senior administration officials said that although the federal government will try to facilitate access to tests, states and localities will be responsible for developing and administering their own testing programs.”

The states will be left to bid against each other for supplies again, meaning they will be able to afford less. The government should be using the defense manufacturing act to have every damn company in the country churn out tests.

Who is gonna win? Virus or tRump? In any battle between virus and tRump, bet on the virus.

In the end (Nov 3) he will be judged on the body count. A surge in bodies will never help him. Regardless how much he wants to squirm out, he is already tattooed with wanting to "open up the economy".

Of course he is setting himself up a CYA situation, but also, he found out that he did not have the power to determine when states would "reopen."
