My mother watches him and is obsessed with poop now. I'm so fucking tired of hearing about him.

I cannot wait until his way-too-long 15 minutes are up.

Didn't watch but a bit, but he seemed to be coming down on the "Open Her Up!" Team.

I reckon one negative health effect of staying home may be because people have more time to watch Dr Oz and Dr Phil.

Oprah has a show about food. There was a short film about processing beef. Oprah said, “I’ll never eat a hamburger again”. The Beef Council (big beef whatever it’s called) sued her. $3-5 million for ....I forget.

Oprah has Oprah money and she was willing to spend it as a screw you to beef. Jury trial. Dr. Phil was a jury consultant. Top top level, Oprah money level. She got to know him and thought he’d work on TV. She won the trial. She started having him on the air and then he got his own show (she owned a piece of it).

The thought of being forced to watch either of them is pure torture. It is cruel and unusual punishment. I'd rather have my fingernails pulled out than watch either of them. Both are quacks.

I'm sure those 30 families will understand.

How often have you seen 30 kids in a school die within a short time.
Too often.
And now Fox News thinks that's just fine.

That is because the Republican sheople as so easily herded by the right-wing media. Fifteen years ago, they got all whipped into a frenzy about one poor brain-dead woman (Terri Schiavo). They passed laws to take her medical decisions away from her husband to put her mother (who was obviously in denial) in charge. The Republicans were the prolife party. So, they said. Now they are willing to sacrifice millions of us, for economic reasons. They have been herded that way by their right-wing media. They are sheaple. Where is all that talk about moral relativism now? MAGA my ass.

Watched the whole thing from here at DU. I wasn’t aware of her but both sides of the abortion issue had their Schiavo book.

Yes the RW media took their believers down an unbelievable path. Hannity was camped out in the parking lot. W can back to DC to sign something specific to her. At the end the autopsy showed what was obvious (she had a heart attack/stroke cutting off oxygen to the brain).

RW and other media packed up and left. It is almost never mentioned.

Well what about the teachers and staff?

Just let them all get sick and 1 to 2% of them are expendable?

a 2-3% increase in the number of people already dying in the country as a whole. Not 2-3% of all the children going back to school - that would be horrific.

I think he was saying that if we were losing 1000 people a day to Covid19, opening the schools might only raise that total to 1020-1030 a day, mostly from grandparents and others who could be exposed from spread amongst the students.

He's still a quack, but I don't think he intended to say something as monstrous as the way people are taking it.
