If each group presents a united front, they can make Trump back down. and if they all do together, even better.

(58,785 posts)It's the governors/state governments and their decisions, and no Trump excuses. The states have enormous power, and every state government can decide to, or not to, effectively compel people to return to dangerous workplaces.
Their problem is political, looking to reelection and keeping power. Bottom line, interests of those they serve, and reactions of their voters.
AND it's up to McConnell's Republican-controlled senate. They can also compel people to break self isolation by blocking bills passed by the Democratic-controlled house to provide the disaster relief that allows people to hide from death.

The Posse Comitatus (Latin, "force of the county" [1] was a loosely organized, far-right populist social movement in the United States starting in the late 1960s, whose members spread a conspiracy-minded, anti-government and anti-Semitic message in the name of white Christians to counter what they believe is an attack on their social and political rights.[2]
Many Posse members practice survivalism and played a role in the formation of the armed citizens' militias in the 1990s. The Posse Comitatus pioneered the use of false liens and other types of "paper terrorism" to harass opponents with frivolous legal actions.[3]

(23,097 posts)Working class people will get fired if they don't go back to work and the unemployment system in the state of FL is totally broken - on purpose as designed by anti-worker Voldemort and his supine Russian Repug legislature. How do you pay for your rent and food if you can't safely work and no unemployment? Most people will go to work because they feel they have no choice, even though they know they are risking their and their family and friends lives. The absolute threat of being homeless is more real and immediate than a possible infection to lots of people.
I found a source of masks using an antimicrobial fiber lining and I'm buying them for the whole family. I am also social distancing myself except for my weekly therapy and wearing my homemade mask until I can get the better version - hopefully early next week.

(23,097 posts)They too don't care about the people of their state. I am surprised that DeSantis hasn't already moved on this, maybe he has a tiny shred of caring? Nsh, he just hasn't gotten around to announcing it yet is my bet. Kemp and Abbott are as bad as mini-me if not worse so I expect equal treachery from them.
