Email from BJs.com - "Shopping is a great distraction" - F' them!

Really? In this day and age?

I sent them a scathing comment about how shopping is not a distraction but a life threatening activity, and that if this is how they chose to bring people in I will find other places to shop when I "have" to go out.

They are clearly social pariahs right now. Boycott them if you are a member and be sure to mention the email.

I'm just digustulated!

They are more consumer focused than the other two, which have a bigger selection for small businesses.

Pretty good selection and prices usually. Good service. Terrible sense of marketing.

Selections offered were mostly in-store. A few online only offers. But most in-store.

The message was get out and shop.

And nowhere did they make the distinction that you can shop on-line or schedule a delivery. even though they off both of those services, the email was a direct call to get out of the house and go shopping.

Some of the items were online only, but most were in store. And no text making the distinction.

Regardless, on one of my very few outings in the near future, one will be to BJs because they're usually pretty well stocked and I can do much of my grocery shopping there at good discounts. They're also limiting customers in-store, and their aisles are wider than a regular market. If I have to go out for groceries anyway, it's a good place to do so.

Frankly, I'm much more concerned about Chump's tweets than I am about BJs e-mails:
