I lack words to describe how stupid and dangerous this is. If social distancing to conquer #COVID19 becomes a political and cultural war, we're all doomed.

(1,353 posts)Where are the elected officials now and not just Dems...if this escalates like we all know it can, this will be so damn dangerous. We cant just be the ones screaming. I doubt there is anyone in that WH willing to stop him but is there anyone there who actually wants to see a civil war erupt during a pandemic? Is there no low he will go to try to get his base energized? His true base will do anything he asks...isnt a vote enough, he now wants anarchy??

Minutes after a Fox News segment on a protest against social distancing measures outside the Minnesota governor's office, by conservative "Liberate Minnesota" group, Trump tweets "LIBERATE MINNESOTA!"

(12,712 posts)He knows that well. This is not ineptitude or insanity, this is a shrewd, manipulative mobster, (no really a mobster) running his own reality TV show. He has a knack for test marketing anything that will work and he has no concern, (or maybe wants) for the deprecation of the common folks, though he does make it seem like he would, huh? Brilliant.
The trick is to foment a greater division in the country and stir up that anarchy that was mentioned. If you can make it bad enough, you get to evoked martial law or tough measures to "contain" the mess you stirred up.
We are in the last legs of General Trump and the GOP's efforts here. I would bet Putin is getting his mobster money's worth, too. Oh, would that be traitor/treason territory?

(3,836 posts)Seditious conspiracy is generally defined as conduct or language inciting rebellion against the authority of a state, treason is the more-serious offense of actively levying war against the United States or giving aid to its enemies. Another way of looking at it is that seditious conspiracy often occurs before an act of treason.
Sounds like just one more impeachable offense to add to impotus trump's obscenely long list of nearly treasonous offenses

(2,716 posts)He got confused and tweeted "LIBERATE MINNESOTA" by mistake. When that seemed too obvious, he threw in Virginia and gun rights. It's like when he blows a line in a teleprompter speech and and follows with the correct line without skipping a beat as though his error was actually in the speech.

(6,552 posts)In Minnesota, we have managed to keep the coronavirus rise low, but it has up-ticked the past few days. Any state they protest in will lose any gains that have be made so far, which may impact the length of sheltering at home. They are proclaiming their rights, but what about the rights of people who are working hard to lower the rise of COVID-19. They have rights, too.

Of all of his twisted, pathetic, lying, propagandistic, horrible tweets, these few are actually the worst that I've ever seen.
They've crossed the line to being deadly. I can't believe an American President would ever actively seek to harm American citizens, and yet...

(2,771 posts)If you are on Twitter, report the tweets. If enough of us report them, eventually they may be impressed by the numbers. Of course, its reprehensible for him to tweet this. Its also reprehensible for Twitter to amplify his evil, all for a buck. So much of our current predicament centers on how much well put up with so others can make an extra buck on immorality.
