Hopeful tweet from former head of Michigan GOP:

I Directed the Michigan Republican Party 2005-2009. I think @GovWhitmer has been doing a fantastic job. Not perfect, but apples to rutabagas in comparison to Trump.

I've not become a Democrat - and I won't. But I'm glad I voted for her and to be supporting @JoeBiden this year.

Not surprising, but crazy. THE VIRUS DOESN'T CARE IF YOU'RE A REPUBLICAN, Y'ALL.

I do understand why the average cultist is pissed and wants to get back to work. They hear their party leaders saying it's fine, so to them, it's the mean Democrats who are keeping them at home. Fine. They're stupid and misled, but I get it.

But I don't understand why the GOP leadership is brazenly treating its most loyal members as though they're disposable. Do they literally not care about the hundreds of thousands of excruciating deaths that they would cause by opening things up without testing and without any logical plan? I mean, I guess they literally don't. But I don't understand how they can make a pandemic political, and about business and about reelecting their shitgibbon cult leader instead of saving lives, and still sleep at night.
